The Girl You Lost By Kathryn Croft
The Girl You Lost by Kathryn Croft
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is my second book I have read by Kathryn Croft and OMG it is good, it is better than good it is mind blowing. From the first chapter I just knew it was going to be good,It absolutely blew me away. This is definitely what a psychological thriller is all about. I absolutely loved it and devoured this in one evening, I simply could not put it down.
The story starts off with a really intense action packed prologue of a woman being attacked. I was on the edge of my sit having palpitations, has we have no idea who this woman is until later in book. The story moves on, describing what happened eighteen years ago. Where we learn about Simone and her six-month-old daughter being abducted, and how Simone and her husband Matt rebuild their lives. Then we move on to the present day where Grace, appears out of the blue and tells Simone she has information about her stolen baby then has quickly has she appears in their lives she disappears and Simone is looking for answers and will do anything to get the answers.
The characters are extremely well written I could feel the pain and sympathise with Simone to the point where I wanted to know all the answers to.Then there is the abductors of side of the story which flicks back and forth which is very well woven in.This definitely kept me thinking I loved the fact that this has been written from both Simone and the abductors point of view. This is very cleverly written and works really well.
This book takes you through a whirlwind of events and lots of twists and turns. It had me guessing until the very end just when you think Simone has made a breakthrough. Bang there is another shocker thrown in. Kathryn has absolutely nailed this corker of a book and its one I will be raving about and recommending to the world.
This is one hell of a gripping story so if you love psychological thrillers then this is a must read for 2016. I am giving this an easy 5 massive well deserved stars.
And I would like to say a big thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
