The Missing Children by M.A. Comley #Review
The Missing Children by M.A. Comley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The Missing Children is the first book in the DI Kayli Bright trilogy and OMG what a Trilogy this is going to be! I am a massive fan Of M.A Comley’s books and I have read at least one from all of her series if not the whole series. But The Missing Children is my favourite one yet. In fact it is that good I don’t know where to start I am totally speechless.
First of all I have to say…the cover OMG I love it. Not only has this book got a stunning cover but everything from the prologue, to the story, to how well it is written is absolutely brilliant. There is nothing NOT to like about this book.I couldn't turn the pages fast enough and read this in a matter of hours.
This has to be the authors darkest book and for those of you that read my reviews know I love dark and this is just that. The story starts off with a bang when a decomposing body of a young girl is found. That was it for me I was hooked. DI Kayli Bright is determined to find out who is responsible for the child's death where we follow an investigation that leads to the conclusion that more children in the area have been abducted. So the title is exactly what it says it
This is one of those stories that talks about a very dark subject matter.Which some readers may find uncomfortable with a paedophile ring involved. But I have to say sensitivity is show in Mel’s excellent writing skills throughout these uncomfortable scenes.
DI Kayli and DS Dave Chaplin are characters that I loved and I cannot wait to find out more about them in the next book.
This is one hell of a hard hitting, gritty story that will have you gripped from start to finish which I cannot recommend enough. Giving it 5 well very deserved stars.
