The Matter of the Crown by Linda Ferreri #BlogTour
I am delighted to share my review for The Matter of the Crown by Linda Ferreri on Blog Tour today
The Crown of the Andes, one of the world's most precious and beautiful sacred objects, has been stolen right off the stage at Satterling's Auction House in New York City. Five pounds of magnificent baroque gold that ransomed the Inca Ruler Atahaulpa, and hundreds of perfect Colombian emeralds, all gone without a trace! Will this legendary treasure be destroyed for its gold and emeralds? One woman is dead and another one in hot pursuit.
My Thoughts
The Matter of the Crown isn't my normal kind of read. This isn't your normal fast paced gritty crime book it is a murder mystery book with a crown theft, murder and kidnap.
The story starts off rather complex when we are introduced to a three totally different characters which are woven into this story. an artist living in Italy called Avi Valencia Alfred Granfeld, and Claire Bliss. The story starts off in Italy then we are transported to New york.
I am a big fan of art history after studying art at college so I loved all the elements of this in the story, the author certainly knows her stuff. Some readers might find this part of the story over descriptive though. I have to say I wasn't a fan of the spiritual references though simply because this isn't my thing.
This is story is full of suspense and twists and turns that will certainly keep you guessing.
The whole time I was reading this story I couldn't help thinking help similar it was to Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series. Which I will admit I cannot get my head round his books but I am a massive fan of the movies. So I do think that this book will be right up your street if you are a fan.
Once again I would like to thank Rachel Gilbey for inviting me to take part in this blog tour
