Anything for Him by L.K. Chapman
Anything for Him by L.K. Chapman
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars
My first thoughts are, that I actually don't know where to start with this novel with it being such a brutal story line but actually enjoying it at the same time if that makes sense?! Making it feel wrong that I enjoyed it.
In this story we follow a story about teenager Sammie who's first boyfriend is Jay, Mark and Felicity. the story is written in four parts and told from the different characters point of view. Jay turns Felicity’s world upside down when he asks her to help him get revenge on a childhood friend; a friend he said destroyed his relationship with Sammie, and wrecked his life. But when Felicity agrees to Jay’s strange plan, she gradually begins to realise she’s treading a path that has been trodden by Sammie before her, as Jay becomes increasingly controlling and abusive, and she finds herself trapped.
Without giving to much away this is one gritty story about control, abuse and manipulation. Making me loath the characters Jay and Mark and feel incredibly sorry for Sammie. The author has done a brilliant job keeping the readers attention has this isn't something I would normally read. The fact that it is a Psychological thriller is what sold it to me. And to write a story in the right way with such a sensitive story line is very brave and deserves a massive shout out from me.... I loved it.
This story is without a doubt one gripping page turner which takes you on an emotional roller coaster which really gets inside your head, with plenty of twists and turns. I couldn't wait to finish it wanting to know what the outcome was going to be. Now that I have, all I can say is WOW!
This is the first book that I have read by this author and certainly wont be my last. I highly recommend this giving it 4.5 stars.
Thank you to TBC for a copy in exchange for an honest review.
