Detective Inspector John Carver is determined that Michael is sent to prison.
With no way of defending himself, Michael is left in his hospital bed awaiting transfer to remand.
But then strange things begin to happen and his childhood comes back to haunt him.
Can Michael ever escape the past?
Will he ever discover the truth about Becky’s murder?
And why is DI Carver so eager to make him suffer?
The Abattoir of Dreams is a bitter sweet story of murder, innocence and abuse.

My Thoughts

Most of you that follow my blog know that I am a sucker for a psychological thriller and what can  say, Mark Tilbury certainly doesn't disappoint with this shocking story. From the moment I started this, having read only a couple of pages I knew that it was going to be good. But the plot thickened and it just got better, so much better that I couldn't put it down….keeping me up until the early hours of the morning.

Seriously you guys are in for one hell of a treat with this story. It is nothing like any other Psychological thriller I have  read before….. it's absolutely fanflippintasic.

The story starts off with one hell of a gripping and intriguing start….. So imagine waking up from a coma in hospital to find out that you are paralyzed?! Well this is what happens to Michael Tate. Also suffering from amnesia he is charged with the stabbing of his girlfriend.  Detective inspector John Carver is determined that Michael is sent to prison for it. But all Michael can do is wait for a transfer to remand. With a childhood he would rather leave in the past, strange things start to happen and his childhood starts to haunt him. The question is will he ever discover the truth and Becky's murder.

Holy freaking hell what an impressive and clever story. With the author building the story up layer by layer making me wanting to know more every single page I turned. Gripping is an understatement.

And the fact that I had more than one OMG moment speaks volumes. Reading it with my hand over my mouth with the shocking a twisted descriptions. Yes this book is also dark and  twisted and it ticked all the boxes for me.Mark Tilbury is definitely going places that's for sure. One moment I am feeling sorry for Michael then I am saying oh my god. This story definitely got inside with my head.

If you're looking for a page turner this is the book for you I cannot recommend it enough giving it 5 massive well deserved stars.

Thank you to the author for a copy in exchange for a honest review.
