The Afterlife of Walter Augustus by Hannah Lynn #BlogTour #interview #review

Today is my stop on The Afterlife of Walter Augustus by Hannah Lynn Blog Tour.
Not only have I got a review to share with you. But Hannah has taken part in my
Getting to Know the Character interview which I am very excited to share with you

The Book

Walter Augustus is dead. His current state of existence has become a monotony of sweet tea and lonely strolls and after decades stuck in the Interim — a posthumous waiting room for those still remembered on Earth — he is ready to move on. Only when he is forgotten by every living person will he be able to pass over and join his family in the next stage of the afterlife. At last the end is tantalizingly close, but bad luck and a few rash decisions may see him trapped in the Interim for all eternity.

Letty Ferguson is not dead. Letty Ferguson is a middle-aged shoe saleswoman who leads a pleasant and wholly unextraordinary life, barring the secret fortune she seems unable to tell her husband about. However, when she takes possession of an unassuming poetry anthology, life takes on a rather more extraordinary dimension.

Getting to know the character interview with Walter Augustus

Can you describe your character?
Walter is a mild-mannered working-class husband and father who used to enjoy
writing poetry. He is also dead and has been for quite some time.

What is his job role and where do they work?
When Walter was alive he worked as a farrier for the surly and emotionless
Pemberton. That was before Pemberton’s unfortunate death, for which Walter
was unequivocally not to blame.

How did the original  idea of Walter come about?
I was flicking over the television channel and stumbled across this bizarre
programme on communicating with the dead. That got me thinking about how
there was enough room for everyone who is dead to communicate with the living.

What makes him original?

Like many great heros, Walter is a reluctant one, very reluctant. However, what
sets him apart is his sweet natured naivety, and his willingness to continually put
others before himself.

What makes him tick?
Walter desperately wants to see his family, but he is also a coward. He doesn’t want to meet
new people or try new things, he just wants to be with his wife again. Unfortunately, his
adversity to risk does little to help his current situation.

What is his biggest fear?

Most definitely that he will be trapped in the interim afterlife forever and it will be his own fault.

If you and your character met in real life, do you think you’d get on?
I think so. He is a very amiable character, although he can be a bit wet sometimes which is
frustrating.

Who would you like to see play them if your books were made into a film or TV show?
Hmm, someone with a genuine niceness about them. Possibly Colin Firth, although that might
just be wishful thinking on the chance I’d get to meet him.

How many books do you have in the series so far?
This book is not part of a series, I don’t think Walter would cope if it was!

My Thoughts

Wow, wow, wow...It's got to be said what an adorable character Walter is I cannot begin to
tell you how much I adored this story. Not only is it unique, it is engrossing it is also beautifully
written. First the very first page I was drawn in where we meet Walter who is dead!

Walter is one of those characters that you will instantly like if not love, we follow on a
captivating journey through the afterlife where he wants to cross over and be with his family in
heaven. But nothing is that simple for him. He finds himself trapped in the interim for
eternity.

Then we meet Letty who connects with Walter through a anthology.....That is all I am saying
about the plot this is another one of those books that you need to read yourself to find out
what happens.

First the very first page I was drawn in where we meet Walter who is dead! I loved
the whole backdrop of the 80's decade where we get to know about Walter and his life
before. That was it for me I was totally hooked wanting to know more every page I
turned.

This story is so much more than a rom comedy don't get me wrong it is full of humor
but it is also captures some tear jerking moments where my heart totally goes out to
Walter. You can feel the emotion in the author's writing skills. I cannot believe this is the
first time that I have read any books by the author and it sure has hell will not be my last.

This is a must read for fans of the paranormal which I highly recommend.  I would like to
thank Hannah for inviting me to take part in this epic tour.
